FRAGRANCE / UK COMPATIBILITY GUIDE
Is your Dior Sauvage bottle actually refillable?
Before buying a Sauvage refill, check three things on the bottle you already own: the full fragrance name, its original size and whether it is the refillable version. The word Sauvage on both products is not enough to establish a match.
Published .
This guide compares Dior's UK instructions for Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum and Parfum. It does not establish compatibility for Elixir, Eau Forte, Extrait, other bottle sizes or an aftermarket atomiser.
Read the bottle before the refill listing
Put your existing bottle beside the refill listing and copy its details. Read the original capacity printed on it, rather than guessing from how much fragrance remains.
- Full fragrance name: ______
- Original bottle size: ______ ml
- Refillable wording or original refill instructions: ______
- Full name of the proposed refill: ______
If the wording is too worn to read, keep the purchase on hold. A photograph of the front, base and any original packaging gives Dior or your retailer a much better starting point than a description such as “the dark blue one”.
Match the version and size
On small screens, scroll the table sideways.
| Existing bottle | Matching refill in Dior's UK instructions | What still needs checking |
|---|---|---|
| Sauvage Eau de Toilette, 30 ml | Sauvage Eau de Toilette refill | The bottle must say REFILLABLE on the back |
| Sauvage Eau de Toilette, 100 ml | Sauvage Eau de Toilette refill | The bottle must say REFILLABLE on the bottom |
| Sauvage Eau de Parfum, 30 or 100 ml | Sauvage Eau de Parfum refill | Confirm your actual bottle is the refillable version if its age or packaging is uncertain |
| Sauvage Parfum, 30 or 100 ml | Sauvage Parfum refill | Confirm your actual bottle is the refillable version if its age or packaging is uncertain |
| Another version, another size or an unidentified bottle | No match established by this comparison | Ask Dior about the exact bottle before ordering |
Dior explicitly gives the label positions for Eau de Toilette. Its Eau de Toilette refill page restricts use to the marked 30 ml and 100 ml bottles. The Eau de Parfum and Parfum pages each name matching 30 ml and 100 ml bottles. They do not provide a universal label-location rule for every Sauvage bottle generation.
The matching names matter. Eau de Parfum and Parfum are separate entries, even though both contain the word “parfum”. Do not shorten your comparison to that word alone.
Three examples before checkout
You have a marked 100 ml Eau de Toilette bottle and an Eau de Toilette refill. The name, size and stated label condition align with Dior's instructions. Follow the instructions supplied for that bottle and refill when it is ready to refill.
You have a 30 ml Eau de Toilette bottle and found an Eau de Parfum refill. The family name and bottle size overlap, but the fragrance versions do not. This is not a manufacturer-supported match in the sources above. A fitting that looks similar is not evidence that the combination is approved.
You have an older bottle with no readable refillable marking. Do not force the spray assembly to find out. Ask for confirmation using the bottle's identifying details. A current product page cannot by itself identify the bottle in your hand.
A refill is not a replacement spray bottle
Dior describes these refills as products for use with the appropriate fragrance bottle, rather than for use alone. If you do not already own a compatible bottle, buying the refill first leaves that practical problem unresolved.
Likewise, this comparison does not approve pouring into a generic travel container, opening sealed valves or mixing fragrance versions. Those are different uses from the documented refill system. Follow the product's own handling instructions rather than improvising an adapter.
Keep a simple purchase record
Once the match is confirmed, save the exact bottle name and size with the matching refill product link. That helps prevent a later purchase from relying on a shortened search result or a similar-looking photograph.
The useful decision is small: either all the documented details match, or the purchase waits for confirmation. There is no need to gamble on a refill to test compatibility.
