Will a window vacuum fit small panes? Check the head, body and exact box
Measure the clear glass opening between the frames before choosing a window vacuum. A narrow suction strip may be useful on divided windows, but its working width is only the first fit check. The body, handle and space for a full stroke still need room.

Measure the opening you can actually reach
Record the narrowest clear width and height of each pane in millimetres. Include bars, handles and projecting frame edges. Do not use the window’s overall outside measurement or assume every pane in the same window is identical.

A paper outline of the published head dimensions can screen out an obvious mismatch. It cannot reproduce the tool’s shape, rubber flexibility or operating clearance. If the fit is close, ask the manufacturer about your dimensions and check the return terms before purchase.

The 133 mm versus 140 mm distinction matters for small panes. For a hypothetical 135 mm clear opening, the older 133 mm working width is below the opening width, while the current 140 mm description is above it. Even the smaller figure would not prove whole-tool clearance. Do not buy a current unit using the older manual’s more convenient number.
Confirm the bundle before comparing prices
Bosch’s UK basic GlassVAC listing, order 06039G6002, does not list the same small-head contents as the Full Set. The family name alone therefore is not enough. Save the exact order number and box-contents list for the unit in your basket.
- Write the full vacuum model, regional order number and included suction heads.
- If a narrow head is separate, verify its exact part number against that machine.
- Add its delivered price to the vacuum price before comparing complete setups.
- Check the cleaning, emptying, charging and storage instructions for the exact unit.
- Ask about body clearance and permitted orientation if frames obstruct a normal stroke.
A listed working width measures the cleaning strip. It is not a claim that the whole accessory or vacuum is that narrow. The Kärcher page makes this visible: its 170 mm working width sits within a 172 mm overall accessory dimension, before the vacuum body is considered.
Keep a cloth option for the awkward panes
If neither documented setup fits, a suitable cloth and hand tool may be more practical for the small panes, with a vacuum reserved for larger unobstructed glass. Follow the glass and frame manufacturer’s cleaning guidance and the appliance’s permitted-liquid instructions.
Removing surface water does not diagnose or solve recurring condensation. Keep that room problem separate from this fit decision. This guide compares documented dimensions and box contents; it does not rank streak removal, cleaning speed or real-world battery life.
