Where does detergent go in a Roborock Saros 10R?
The checked Saros 10R manual puts cleaner in the cartridge and cold tap water in the clean-water tank. Identify the container before following dilution advice.

Find the two containers before opening the bottle
Compare your dock with the A11 diagram and C1/C2 instructions in the official Saros 10R manual.
On small screens, scroll the table sideways.
| Part | Manual label | What belongs there |
|---|---|---|
| Clean-water tank | A11-6 | Cold tap water. |
| Cleaning-solution cartridge | A11-4 | Roborock-recommended cleaning solution. |
This is a container identification aid. If your dock has a different arrangement or your supplied manual gives different labels, find its own filling section before using this table.
Why the 1:300 tank advice causes confusion
Roborock's general “Can I add cleaner to the water tank?” FAQ describes a 1:300 dilution for Roborock cleaner. It does not identify a specific robot or automatic-dosing dock in the answer.
That advice answers a tank-mixing question. Your Saros 10R's cartridge procedure answers a different question: how to fill an automatic-dosing system. Applying the generic ratio to the cartridge, or adding a second dose to the water tank, would mix two instruction routes. Follow the exact dock manual and a cleaner approved for that system; seek clarification from Roborock if the bottle and your regional manual appear to conflict.
The Saros manual describes automatic addition at a preset ratio but does not publish its numerical value. The generic FAQ's number therefore cannot establish the cartridge's internal dosing ratio. There is no useful home calculation to perform from those two documents alone.
The cartridge procedure in the checked manual
- Use both hands to remove the cover. Pull the cartridge out by its bottom handle onto a hard, level surface.
- Open, add recommended solution, close and reinstall until it clicks. Replace the cover. Use no disinfectant.
Switch off and unplug before cleaning or maintenance. If you filled the wrong container, ask support for a recovery procedure rather than improvising a flush, mixture or repair.
You can choose water-only use
You may skip cleaner and disable Smart Cleaning Solution Filling; keep the cartridge installed.
If you have no approved cleaner to hand, that documented option avoids guessing whether another floor liquid is compatible. It is not a claim that all floor finishes or spills will produce identical results with water alone. Check the floor manufacturer's care restrictions separately.
Resolve conflicting instructions with these details
On small screens, scroll the table sideways.
| Record or photograph | Question it helps answer |
|---|---|
| Robot and dock model labels | Does the instruction apply to this exact hardware? |
| Country of purchase and supplied manual | Is the support answer for the same regional version? |
| Cleaner name and complete label directions | Is the bottle intended for tank dilution, automatic dispensing or another use? |
| The container you intend to fill | Are you asking about the cartridge or the water tank? |
| What was added, where and approximately how much, if already filled incorrectly | Can support advise an appropriate recovery procedure without guessing? |
Ask a precise question: “For this dock and this bottle, should this liquid go into the cartridge as supplied, and what should remain in the clean-water tank?” Include the conflicting instruction rather than asking only for a dilution ratio.
Scope and source check
The checked English EU manual identifies EWFD28HRR/EWFD29HRR docks. Other regional packages or plumbed versions need their own instructions.
Official manual and general FAQ checked 10 October 2026. No numerical preset ratio, third-party cleaner compatibility or firsthand cleaning result is claimed.
